Otaka Poppo is Japanese traditional wooden carved toy made in Yonezawa city, Yamagata Prefecture. Originaly, Yonezawa feudal lord Takayama Uesugi, who encouraged farmers to make handicrafts as a side job during the winter season, and they have been popular as a talisman against evil and as a lucky charm to increase one’s salary.
